The lession of the sun ray
The sunlight filters through, streaming across the kitchen floor. There are no words to describe the beauty of the sun. Brushing past the curtain I disturb the layer of dust. I watch the shinning rays illuminate the falling filth. I notice in that moment the beauty of the earth, the way that nature finds its worth even in the smallest piece of dirt. I envy the window pane, the filter for the sun. The one thing protecting us from the hell that burns above. That thing in the sky that lets us know just how far we can really fly. The whole day long I watch the light slowly start to fade. I figure out my life is no more than a single shinning ray.
War, I never realized how powerful three letters could be. Does humankind really hold so much hate for itself that it feels compelled to destroy it's own kind? I will never forget that haunted summer. The nightmares still linger in my mind. I had forbidden myself to remember, but I was terrified to forget. I knew I knew I was nothing special, but still he chose me. In those days there was one thing that kept me happy, Edward.
At the time it happened we were only seven. I thought as a child, but reacted out of fear. Before that day Edward was always sweet. He hid his pain his parents caused; much like the way I hid my shame. Edward was lucky
